Most shared to-do apps give you checkboxes and leave the talking to WhatsApp, iMessage or Slack. Then the answer to “which paint did we pick?” is buried three days up a group chat.
seed builds the chat in. Each shared folder has a channel for general talk, and each task has its own thread for the details. Both support @mentions, emoji reactions, editing your messages and attaching files. Drag a photo, quote or PDF straight onto a task or into the chat and it stays attached to the thing it’s about.

Notifications and reminders
See what’s due the moment you open it
seed has a reminders bell at the top of the app. It lists what’s overdue and what’s due soon for you, plus any unpaid bills that are coming due, and each late task gets a small red dot on its row so it stands out in the list.
Set a reminder on any task, or make it repeat so the weekly shop or the monthly rent comes back on its own. Assign it to the right person and it shows up for them.
To be clear: today these are in-app notifications. Most people add seed to their phone’s home screen and check the bell like they’d check any app. An iOS app with push notifications for mentions, messages, assignments, completed items and reminders is coming soon, with quiet hours, per-folder mute and no pings while you’re already using seed.

Worked example: planning a move together
Elena and Tom are moving in six weeks. Elena makes a folder called Move, invites Tom as an editor, and pastes a rough list from her notes app: boxes, movers, internet, change of address, deposit. Each line becomes a task.
Rather than sorting it by hand, she types in the folder chat: “@agent split this between me and Tom and space it out before the 30th.” The agent assigns each task, adds subtasks where a job has steps (the movers task gets “get three quotes”, “compare”, “book”), and sets dates across the six weeks.
A week later
Tom drops the three mover quotes, as PDFs, onto the “Get three quotes” task. Elena opens its thread, reacts 👍 to the cheapest and writes “book this one.” The deposit task has an amount on it and a date, so it shows in the bell when it’s due. Nobody scrolled a group chat to find anything.
What to know before you pick seed
Everyone you share with signs in with a Google account; there’s no email-and-password option. seed runs in the browser on computers and phones (add it to your home screen to open it like an app), and an iOS app with push notifications is coming soon. There’s no Android app, and it needs a connection to work. Lists are lists: there’s no kanban board or calendar view.
