In most apps, AI is a sidebar that writes text you then copy somewhere else. In seed the agent is a member of your folder’s chat. It reads the conversation you point it at and changes the actual task list, so the plan and the discussion never drift apart.
Everything the agent makes is an ordinary seed item: a line that can carry a checkbox, due date, several assignees, subtasks, notes, a chat thread, files, a reminder or a repeat. You can edit, reassign or delete any of it by hand, and the history log shows what the agent changed.

Letting an AI send email on your behalf should be a choice. In seed every connected tool has its own setting: ask first shows you what it’s about to do and waits for a yes; autonomous lets it act and tell you afterwards.

Worked example: a Monday stand-up, handled
A four-person marketing team keeps a folder called Q4 campaigns. Its agent brief says: “We run paid social and email for three product lines. Jo owns email, Alex owns paid, Mia approves budgets.”
What Jo pastes into the folder chat
“Stand-up notes: holiday email needs new hero image. Alex testing two ad variants, results Thursday. Mia wants a budget summary before we raise spend. Webinar date still not set. @agent turn this into tasks for the week.”
A few seconds later the folder has four new items:
- Holiday email: new hero image, assigned to Jo, due Wednesday.
- Review ad variant results, assigned to Alex, due Thursday.
- Budget summary for Mia, assigned to Alex, with Mia added as a second assignee to approve, due Friday.
- Pick the webinar date, left unassigned because nobody in the notes claimed it.
Jo then asks, “@agent put a 20-minute results review on the calendar for Thursday afternoon.” With Calendar set to ask first, the agent shows the event it’s about to create, and Jo confirms. The brief supplied the owners and the notes supplied the timing, so nobody filled in a single field by hand.
What the AI task manager doesn’t do
The agent works inside seed and the Google and Slack accounts you connect. It doesn’t join or record your video calls, so you paste the notes yourself. Give it a deadline and it plans back from it; if you don’t, glance at the dates it picks. Like any AI it can misread a sentence, which is why ask-first exists and why everything it does is visible in the history log. There’s no calendar or kanban view in seed; tasks live in folders as clean lists.
